📋 About the Department

Department of Plant Production Technologies

The Department of Plant Production Technologies was established in 1998. The study duration in the department is four years, after which the student graduates as a technical engineer holding a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Production Technologies, a degree recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The graduate can join the Iraqi Agricultural Engineers Syndicate. The department offers postgraduate studies (Master’s and Doctorate / Plant Propagation and Improvement) in addition to undergraduate studies.

The department aims to graduate qualified personnel capable of working in the following areas:

  • Genetic engineering programs for plant production improvement.
  • Field crop and horticultural production projects.
  • Beekeeping projects.
  • Project and field management.
  • Working in grain grading laboratories.
  • Use of tunnels and greenhouses.
  • Working in tissue culture laboratories.
