The vision of the Department’s administration is to make the Plant Production Department a center of excellence in education, research, and community service in the fields of plant production, crop, vegetable, and fruit production. The Department seeks to contribute to the mission of the College by preparing highly qualified graduates in the areas of plant production.
The Department aims to produce graduates who are capable of competing both locally and regionally within the specialization fields of the Department, and who can effectively employ modern technology in education and scientific research. It also strives to conduct applied research that serves the community in plant production sectors, and to foster community partnerships with research centers, agencies, farms, companies, and factories relevant to the Department’s disciplines.

Production and breeding of vegetable crops
Production and technology of medicinal and aromatic plants
Production and breeding of flowers and ornamental plants
Upon successful completion of the Department’s study programs, graduates become qualified to work in universities, institutes, and research centers; agricultural agencies and companies; nurseries and landscape design; agricultural quarantine units at airports and ports; and organizations concerned with the marketing and export of agricultural products, as well as companies engaged in the production, processing, and trade of medicinal and aromatic plants.

Department Objectives
The Department seeks to prepare technically qualified graduates in Plant Biotechnology Technologies , which is the most accurate academic equivalent), focusing on improving and propagating plants, producing field and horticultural crops, and protecting plants from pests and diseases. The program aims to produce graduates capable of working in the main areas of plant biotechnology, including:
Genetic engineering programs for improving plant production.
Projects for the production of field and horticultural crops.
Beekeeping projects.
Management of farms and agricultural projects.
Work in grain grading laboratories.
Use of tunnels and greenhouses in vegetable production.
Work in nurseries and propagation of ornamental plants.
