The Department is considered one of the most significant and distinguished departments within the Al-Mussaib Technical College – Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. It aims to prepare engineers with solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills capable of keeping pace with the labor market and technological advancement.

The department was established in 1998 and has since graduated numerous qualified professionals who have contributed to both the public and private sectors—particularly in the fields of power generation, distribution, maintenance, power and energy systems, control systems, and electronic systems.

The department boasts a highly qualified academic staff holding titles such as Professor, Assistant Professor, and other academic ranks, with degrees obtained from various international universities. Their scientific and practical expertise has significantly enriched the department’s educational outcomes, producing graduates who are leaders and innovators across multiple sectors.

Postgraduate studies were introduced in 2020 with the launch of the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering Technologies, followed by the Ph.D. Program in Electrical Power Engineering Technologies in 2024.
Numerous research papers have been published in reputable international journals by the faculty and postgraduate students. Additionally, the department has completed several applied research projects, including studies on renewable energy, energy harvesting, and intelligent control systems, all contributing to the department’s academic and research excellence.

Head of Department

The Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies is one of the engineering departments at Al-Mussaib Technical College. It was established in 1998 in response to the growing need of the labor market for this vital specialization.

The department’s scope covers various areas of electrical engineering, including electrical systems, renewable energy, power generation, conversion, distribution, and storage. Its mission is to produce highly competent graduates across all fields of electrical engineering and to conduct distinguished scientific research both regionally and internationally.

The mission of the Department is to prepare and qualify national technical engineering cadres in the field of electrical engineering—academically, pedagogically, and professionally—so that they can serve the community and meet the needs of the labor market in accordance with quality assurance standards.

1. To graduate highly qualified engineering and technical professionals in all fields of electrical engineering who are academically and professionally capable of meeting labor market needs.
